Biography
Debbie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilkes University in 1984. As the Institute’s nurse, Debbie provides instruction to teachers, parents, and management team members on health and co-morbid conditions for children with autism. In addition to her daily school nursing duties, Debbie provides education and counseling on vaccine-related matters and conducts comprehensive nursing assessments of non-verbal and verbal children with autism to provide parents with objective information about their medical needs.
Debbie has presented at various professional conferences including those hosted by the New Jersey Association for Behavior Analysis and Princeton Child Development Institute. Debbie’s research interests include gastrointestinal co-morbidity in autism, weight management for people with autism, and successful participation in medical procedures.
