Biography

CARALYN J. HARRIS

Cara earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Psychology from The College of Saint Elizabeth in 2005. She possesses both Elementary School Teacher and Teacher of the Handicapped certifications. Cara has been delivering behavioral intervention to individuals with autism at the Institute for more than 12 years. She has vastly improved the lives of many students with autism. Cara has played an instrumental role in several of our students’ transitions back to the public school system.

As part of the Institute’s professional development program, Cara mentors novice teachers to support them in obtaining their standard certifications in fulfillment of the Provisional Teacher Program requirements set forth by the New Jersey Department of Education. Cara’s research interests include phobic response issues and peer interaction.
